Yep it's that time again everyone! All the latest movie gossip right in one place!

Headlines: 1. Will Ferrell to Star in Spanish-speaking Comedy

2. Benicio del Toro Turns Down Star Trek Role

3. Hangover 3 to Begin Filming in September

Will Ferrell to Star in Spanish-speaking Comedy

This is the image that was released today for Ferrell's upcoming Spanish-speaking comedy "Casa De Mi Padre". Ferrell portrays Armando Alvarez, a Mexican ranger who gets into a spot of bother with the toughest drug lord in Mexico.

Fans of Ferrell were shocked at the news of the famous comedic actor's new film being in Spanish. The poster is also a new style for the actor who has seemed to play many similar roles throughout his acting career.

The film is set to be released March 16 2012 and is directed by Matt Piedmont.

Benicio Del Toro Turns Down Star Trek Role

Benicio del Toro, who was cast as villain Khan for the Star Trek sequel, which will be released May 17 2013.

Khan was the main villain of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and was originally portrayed by Ricardo Montalban. Del Toro seemed to be a good fit for the role and was an immediate request for the role by director J.J. Abrams.

All we can do now is wait and possibly expect the unexpected for the character of Khan who currently has no actor to fit the role.

Hangover 3 to be filmed in September

With the Hangover 2 grossing over $600 million in the box office and with the first Hangover adventure being considered "one of the best comedies of all time".

There has been an announcement to say that the Hangover series will become a trilogy as filming for the third film will begin next September.

Bradley Cooper, who has gained a powerful and positive reputation from the films has stated the excitement and hopes the filming will begin next September.

Zach Galifianakis has also confirmed that a third film will be made.

High anticipation and expectations for the upcoming movie. Lets hope it delivers, judging from the previous two films, there should be no disappointment.

When Humans and Insects Combine ... eeek !!!!!

The world was shaken with fear and the goosebumps in 2010 when horror director Tom Six released what he had planned to be "the world's sickest film", "The Human Centipede (First Sequence). Now this is a strange and for some quite a disturbing topic to discuss, you've been warned!

This film, and I will not give anything major or sickening away, was based around Dr. Heiter, a doctor famous for the separation of conjoined twins. He becomes obsessed with the idea of creating organisms rather than separating them and his main idea is none other than creating a human centipede...

Let's just say that 3 unfortunate victims become the subjects of Heiter's torturous plan. This film was beautifully directed in a strange sense as there is always clean and bright imagery to represent the clinical side to the estranged Dr. Heiter. The ending to this film is even more disturbing than the conept itself.

To view the trailer for the original horror, click the link below:

Director Tom Six had made a statement on a planned sequel which he released a teaser trailer for not long after the release of the first movie. In this trailer Six stated that the sequel would make its predecessor look like "my little pony". In this trailer he also introduced his new evil mastermind that would knock Heiter off the gold podium... MARTIN!!!!!!!!!!

The sequel "The Human Centipede (Full Sequence)" was released September 2011 and caused twice as much chaos as the first film. In the case of the sequel it presented someone actually becoming obsessed with the first film and how they plan to recreate the events of the previous film only taking it to another degree. What is disturbing about this concept is the fact that there are people who are possibly sick enough to contemplate copying this idea and this movie scares the living daylights out of any sane person at the fact that this is happening within the film. Six shows his brilliant directing skills in presenting us with a completely different concept visually and literally. The stark difference between the two films is the full sequence is in black and white for the most part despite a scene which I will not mention for the sake of those of you who have just eaten something. The film is set in England and makes up for the missed blood and guts the first film did not possess.

This time around the centipede will not consist of 3 human beings but a disgusting 12! Martin, the main man is an obese, mentally-ill and somewhat of a sympathetic character despite his gruesome actions. It is the skill of acting and Six's directing which is magnificent in the fact that he has convinced many who watch the film to feel for the main character who has a sickening yet childlike mental state.

The sequel stars Laurence R. Harvey as Martin and Ashlynn Yennie reprises a role, but this time she plays herself.

The film revolves around Martin, a security guard working in an underground car park. He lives at home with his somewhat mentally abusive mother and suffered abuse as a child at the hands of his father who is not present in the movie. Martin is obsessed with "The Human Centipede: (First Sequence)" watching the movie on repeat in his office and possessing a homemade scrapbook on the film, and also owning his own pet centipede. Martin plans on creating his own 12 person centipede and by doing so lures and tricks his victims as they are passing through the car park where he works. As the film progresses, which is very slowly, and Martin's plan does too, it truly does make the first movie look like "My Little Pony".

To see the theatrical trailer for this depraved sequel, click the link below... if you dare!

The movie has been described by fans as "depraved and disgusting" and other film reviewers have stated that "it should not exist".

The film has suffered bans in several countries which seems to be attracting more attention to it with regards to online streaming.

Tom Six had announced that there will be a third and final film released to compose the trilogy and once again this film will be incredibly different in comparison to the previous 2, but all films will connect and can be combined to make a 4 and a half hour feature film. Once again Six is challenging himself to create an even sicker film.

I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this psychotic director who has spoken to medical advisors that have approved that his theatrical concept is 100% medically accurate but in imagination is 100% inaccurate!

R.I.P Ken Russell

Legendary, controversial film director Ken Russell impacted my life with his work. So, after his recent death I feel that he deserves some recognition no matter how small.

Ken Russell caught my attention one day as I was trying to find some controversial films to watch, as I love a bit of controversy. Through searching for controversial films I discovered, which would soon be a film to enter into my top 10, even top 5, Ken Russell's 1971 masterpiece "The Devils". When I viewed this film I was intrigued by this Ken Russell, who was merely a name on a screen at the time. When I began to delve into his work, my intrigue only grew from then on.

Here is a snippet of "The Devils", the cult following which earned Ken Russell his status in the movie world.

Before breaking through in the film industry, Russell became interested in photography. As a result of his work with photographing, Russell had many exhibitions in the late part of his life. Below are some examples of Ken Russells work:

It is clear from the work of Ken Russell, whether it be directing or photography, that he was a truly talented individual in his art.

3 of Russell's films were awarded Oscars, the films were: "Women in Love" (1969), "The Devils" (1971) and "The Who's Tommy" (1975).

Ken Russell died November 27, 2011 at the age of 84. His death was due to natural causes.

Scannan na hEireann

With the return of Roddy Doyle's "The Snapper" on Irish television last week I couldnt help but think back on Irish film and I realised how good it actually is.

Ireland is particularly talented with its comedy, with "The Snapper" being the perfect example. What I love about Irish films (scannans) are the realistic side to them, the portrayal of a character's life in Irish film is so simplistic and depicts exactly how the Irish people live. Irish films are not overly dramatised and there are no Hollywood factors, just simple yet effective film making, no need for stereotypes and its the realistic style of Irish film that makes it so funny. Some Irish films that I really love are; "Spin the Bottle", "The Commitments", "The Van", "Inside I'm Dancing" etc. It's these sort of films that prove to people that were not all about leprechauns and sheep.

I personally think that Irish film deserves more recognition and is underrated. It is not all about the comedy, there are dramas such as "Veronica Guerrin" and "The Magdalene Sisters" that are based on true events which impacted the country greatly.

So I thought I would show some support for the famous scannans of Ireland that we are truely proud of.

Thanks for reading, ttyl.

My Top 10 Greatest Movie Villains

Their the characters we love to hate, the anti-hero with the hidden past and tormented mind. But with so many villains in cinema today, it is difficult to narrow it down to my 10 greatest, but I did it :). Here is my official "Top 10 Greatest Movie Villains" list and its more sinister than ever >:)

WARNING : May contain spoilers!!!!

10. Wicked Witch of the West - The Wizard of Oz (1939)

Despite the fact that this film was for a "general" audience, there is no denying that the Wicked Witch of the West was completely creepy. The green skin, the disgusting cackle and not to mention the flying monkeys... she was crazy and became the boogeyman for any child that layed eyes on "The Wizard of Oz". From the moment she uttered "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too", she became historic. But we could all breath a sigh of relief when we heard her scream "I'm melting, I'm melting". But that doesn't mean she is melted from our memory.

9. Chucky - Child's Play Series (1988 - 2004)

Let's face it, dolls are creepy enough without the movement, speaking and oh yeah, the killing! So when "Child's Play" graced our screens in 1988, people began to look at dolls in a completely different light. Chucky, a small red-haired doll dressed up in dungarees, seemed harmless at first, then before we knew it he was hacking people to pieces. Chucky has also managed to raise a family in the sequels and influence them all into his mind games and create a killing cult. So because of his truly evil nature Chucky manages to make it on to the list.

8. Dr. Evil - Austin Powers Series (1997 - 2002)

Ok so maybe not that scary, but what is great about Dr. Evil is that he is a humorous representation of what villains are about. If a villain usually messes up, they get angry or decide to kill a few people, but Dr. Evil undermines himself and says what Hollywood's villains are really saying to themselves. He is unsuccessful in almost any plan he creates and we take sincere enjoyment in watching him fail. Dr. Evil may not be truly evil but he deserves to be included in the greatest movie villains of all time.

7. Michael Myers - Halloween Series (1978 - 2009)

Silent but violent, Michael Myers is the one true slasher killer that stands among the rest. With a tormented childhood and troubled past Myers has no mercy for anyone that steps in his path. Shielding his identity from the world and causing havoc wherever he goes, Michael Myers is truly terrifying, making Halloween the night we should definitely not make plans outside the home.

6. Voldemort - Harry Potter series (2001 - 2011)

Without the Dark Lord, Harry Potter would never have become who he is. Voldemort, a snake-faced guy with a voice like ice. He will do anything it takes to kill a teenager, that has got to be scary for anyone. His desperation to kill Harry Potter is what makes him frightening and the fact that he can kill you in the blink of an eye if you irritate him in the slightest. To sum it up Voldemort is pretty much undefeatable.

5. Sauron - Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001 - 2003)

The creator of the one ring and the reason why Middle Earth is crawling with the bad guys. Even when the eye of Sauron is in command, he is still not to be messed, whether it is through the use of torture or temptation, he always manages to get what he wants, except the one thing he created. Through the manipulation he is a dominant force not to be reckoned with.

4. Freddy Kreuger - Nightmare on Elm Street series (1984 - 2010)

He lurches in your dreams making them a reality, even if you pinch yourself to wake up its painful. You can't run or hide and worst of all you need to stay awake. Reality and nightmares become the same thing. Freddy Kreuger's razor sharp blades cut deep into the mind of the viewers and begins to mess with their thoughts throughout his nightmarish acts. He has caused some to consider going to sleep.

3. The Joker - The Dark Knight (2008)

Psychotic, insane, deranged, dangerous are all words that could be used to describe the Joker. He lives life without the use of rules and hasn't a care for anyone but himself. His psychopathic actions and words are entertaining at times and at others just plain evil. His mission to unveil Batman have been unsuccessful. He takes no interest in money only the suffering of others, which is why he is number 3 on the list.

2. Darth Vader - Star Wars series (1977 -2005)

With the black helmet, cloak and deep breathing, we can all reminisce to the "Luke, I'm your father" moment. Darth Vader may have missed out on the number 1 spot but he is one of the most memorable villains of all time. He is an evil yet tragic character who manages to redeem himself in the end and win us over. He is also pretty cool considering he is half human, half robot. When we think of Star Wars, we think of Darth Vader.

1. Hannibal Lecter - Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon (1991 - 2002)

So here we are at the number 1 spot and it is none other than Hannibal (the cannibal) Lecter. Despite only having 14 minutes in "Silence of the Lambs" when the screen time was added up, Lecter never failed to creep us out. Even though he was locked up in a cage, that didnt prevent him from being absolutely terrifying beyond belief. Whether it be the description of him eating a person or visually seeing him eating a person, the cannibalistic tendencies are enough to make the hair on anyone's neck stand tall. Hannibal also has the habit of feeding people brain which is quite an uncomfortable situation to imagine being in. Anthony Hopkins portrayed this gruesome character in 3 movies that still leave us feeling quite disturbed and nauseas. He is without a doubt the most memorable villain and also most realistic out of the top 10.

So there you have it the Top 10 Greatest Movie Villains. Comment on your opinion and if you have any suggestions feel free to write them below.

Til next time :)
